Ahl al-Bayt Assembly Chief: Martyr Leader's Thought Centered on Resistance, Islamic Ummah

The head of the Supreme Council of the Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly has stated that the Martyr Leader of the Islamic Revolution always placed the dignity of the Islamic Ummah, support for the world's oppressed, Muslim unity, and backing for the Axis of Resistance at the top of his priorities, maintaining a vision that transcended Iran's borders.

Hawzah News Agency- In an interview in Tehran, Hojatoleslam Mohammad Hassan Akhtari said that just as Islam itself possesses a global outlook—with God stating in the Holy Quran, "And We have not sent you except comprehensively to mankind"—the station of religious leadership, divine guidance, and Wilayah is not confined to a single geography but carries a universal and humanitarian perspective.

He added that today, this Wilayah is manifested in its most complete form in the blessed existence of Imam Mahdi (PBUH), and a portion of this authority is delegated to the Wali-e-Faqih and the supreme Marja of Shias. Therefore, the station of religious leadership is a universal station belonging to all of humanity.

Hojatoleslam Akhtari pointed to the approach of Imam Khomeini and the Martyr Leader of the Islamic Revolution, noting that if one examines the messages of the Islamic Revolution from the very beginning of Imam Khomeini's movement, one sees that his vision was never limited to Iran. Rather, the Islamic world, nations, and the liberation of human beings from the yoke of arrogance and tyrants were always his focus—the very mission emphasized by the Holy Quran.

He continued that the Martyr Leader followed this same path, and in all his speeches and stances, he consistently directed attention toward the Islamic world, the Islamic Ummah, and indeed all the oppressed peoples of the world. He believed that paving the way for the dignity of the Islamic Ummah requires effort, planning, and sustained work.

The head of the Supreme Council of the Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly remarked that Imam Khomeini, through the Islamic Revolution, restored Islam to Muslims, as prior to the revolution, Islam did not hold a worthy position on the global stage, and Islamic countries derived no benefit from their Islamic identity within the international order.

Referring to the Second Phase of the Revolution statement, he noted that a significant portion of this document is dedicated to the global outlook of the revolution, the Islamic world, and the oppressed, demonstrating that the Martyr Leader always maintained a vision beyond Iran's borders and pursued the liberation of humanity from the domination of colonialists.

Strengthening Islamic Unity and the Palestine Cause

Hojatoleslam Akhtari highlighted the Martyr Leader's efforts to strengthen unity in the Islamic world, stating that from the very outset of his leadership, the establishment of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought was placed on the agenda with the aim of creating unity among Muslims and reducing sectarian differences. Similarly, at the request of Islamic figures, the Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly was formed to bring cohesion to the followers of the Ahl al-Bayt and strengthen their standing.

He added that the issue of Palestine was always one of the foremost concerns of the Martyr Leader, who viewed the Zionist regime as a cancerous tumor in the body of the Islamic world, designed to create division among Muslims and dominate them.

The head of the Supreme Council of the Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly stressed that a review of the Martyr Leader's speeches and statements reveals that support for the Palestinian people, defense of the Resistance, the liberation of Palestine, and the annihilation of the Zionist regime were always among the central themes of his addresses.

He pointed to the Martyr Leader's historic Friday prayer sermon of Nasr (Victory), noting that he explicitly stated in that sermon that support for the Palestinian people and the Resistance is a religious duty and an obligation upon all Muslims, a duty not limited to Iranians alone but encompassing all Muslims and indeed all free people of the world.

Hojatoleslam Akhtari described resistance as one of the fundamental principles of Islamic thought, stating that the Martyr Leader consistently emphasized the necessity of standing firm against enemies and hegemonic powers, headed by the United States and the Zionist regime, viewing this as derived from the teachings of the Holy Quran.

Citing the Quranic verse, "O you who have believed, when you encounter a company, stand firm and remember Allah much, that you may be successful," he stated that God calls upon the believers to resist, persevere, and not retreat before the enemy, promising them salvation. Thus, resistance was one of the central pillars of the Martyr Leader's thought.

In conclusion, the head of the Supreme Council of the Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly expressed hope that this path, under the guidance and leadership of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, will continue with the same approach and within the framework of the ideals of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic world.
